Choosing the Perfect Summer Lipstick

I spend so much of my time deliberating over lipstick shades. Whether its for my clients or myself, I take pride in making sure the colour is perfect! When it comes to summer colours, the aim for me is always to keep it simple and effortless. You really want the colour to brighten up your makeup look without it overpowering it. The perfect balance between, bright but not too bright, is the key! For todays post I thought I'd break down a few MAC shades which can help you achieve an elegant but easy summer look.
Here we have (from left to right); Shy Girl, Creme Cup, Patisserie, Fanfare and Craving.
Shy girl is the most beautiful light peachy colour with a creme sheen finish. Its coverage is light but very buildable and has a beautiful glossy finish. I love this paired with Bodly Bare lip liner by MAC. Its one of my go-to colours at the moment!
This next shade is Creme Cup. The picture here really doesn't due it justice at all, because in real life its a really soft pretty pink shade. It does have that same slight peachy undertone, making it perfect for summer! Again it has a creme sheen formula so its really comfortable and moisturising on the lips.
Patisserie is the perfect 'your lips but better shade'. Its a lustre finish so has a much more sheer texture on the lips, making it perfect for those hot summer days! Its a lovely way to add a little bit extra colour to your lips.
Every time I swatch this one, all I can think about it how juicy it looks! This shade is called Fanfare and its the most flattery mid-tone pink ever! Its bright but not too bright! The colour pay-off for this shade is also really lovely! Its a creme sheen again, so the finish is buildable but still creamy!
So this last shade is called Craving, and just looking at this picture it's making me do just that! This lipstick has an amplified finished so it has much more colour pay off! Its much more bold and high impact compared to the others and is perfect for those that want an effortless statement lip.
I thought I would include some swatches on my arm so you could see the true colours all next to each other! I think my favourite is definitely 'Shy Girl' at the moment. I wore it today and I just loved how the peachy freshness changed up my look from a typical nude lip. I never want summer to end!

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and read my blog! I'm thinking I might do another post similar to this one once we hit the autumn season! What do you guys think?
